The leafy scorpionfish
Leanie, the leafy scorpion fish is a very extravagant character. She’s a fully grown adult and yet she’s paper thin. The rumour has it she’s anorexic, but she will always deny it. She’s quite little, quite short, but beware, she’s abundant with energy and can’t stop moving her hips when she dances. She’s unstoppable. She rocks back and forth with the music, current or tide.
People aren’t quite sure whether they can trust her. What she says always seem to conceal her real intentions. Whatever the trend, she adopts it just like a dead leaf with no opinion of her own. Drifting away like an inert object.
Every now and then she will commit to one suitable fish and devote it her entire attention. She can look quite intimidating with her starry eye and her glowing smile. When the prey approaches, she slowly adapts her behaviour. Once close enough, the bystander is sucked in by a sudden opening of her mouth. She will keep talking until that target is seduced and swallowed up.
Everyone grows fond of her. Sparkling personality to start with, she’s a real treat. Always making gentle sideways movement to blend in. She can empathize with anything or anyone.
Her victims grow by her side for a while until she reveals her true nature.
As soon as one of her friends has been hanging out nearby for too long, their fashion style tire her. She sheds some tears then finally removes that friend from her life by finding a new one. Depending on the friend she left behind, she moults her clothes and changes colour style.
Some think of her as dangerous as she constantly surprises and pranks her friends. She's an ambushed predator.
And yet, her venom is considerably weaker than her cousin's Stella the stonefish or or her uncle's Lionel the lionfish.
She collects tiny bits of algae and treasures from every destination she visits. Her long sail like dorsal allows her to travel everywhere around the world. She loves navigating and exploring the seas.

The Oran-Utan crab
Hi my name is Enrique, I'm an oran-utan crab. Other people's opinion matters to me, I am very susceptible and I can get quickly offended so I found the perfect strategy to hide from my predators. I use materials, ideas, creations and projects from my environment and I use it as decoration for my personality.
Truly I don't have a shell of my own. I only use other people's stuff. Lacking personality can be really useful to blend in. Camouflage is key.
Most of the time, I only need to talk. I talk and talk so much that I bore my interlocutors and they run away from me.
I am quite famous or shall I say infamous. A lot of divers want to find me on bubble coral such as Instagram or Facebook and they follow my activities on their newsfeed. They can't stop mentioning me in their conversations and they keep looking at my pictures.
I am quite proud of what I have achieved. What I am most proud of is my son the Oran-Utan crab Simon. He is everything to me. Other marine life creatures laugh at me for having such a strong bond with him but our relationship is genuine.
Paul, the painted crayfish
Let me introduce myself, my name is Paul. I am a panilurus versicolor but most people identify me as a painted crayfish. I'm very nocturnal and solitary. In day time, I tend to hide behind my computer desk in a little cave resembling an office.
I hate interacting with other species unless they can provide me with fresh crustaceans or foie gras.
I feel very lonely and other creatures scare me. Deep into the abyss of my loneliness I find some very rewarding comfort.
Most of the time, it seems that my surroundings are hostile. When really it is just my imagination. I don't have the patience to deal with the Oran-Utan crab or the Harlequin shrimp problems. I've got my own problems! How can I be empathetic when no one understands me?
I found the perfect way to get rid of animals, I use my sharp and hard tentacles of nastiness. Whatever they touch becomes nasty. It spreads like a disease. I infect anything I have a connection with.
That's how I keep everyone away from me. No one wants to stick around a pointy sword-like edge.
